R?IDH SUPPORT WORKER (OUTREACH)- YOUTH SPACES
ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT
YMCA Dublin has been working with young people in Dublin City for over
**Apply on the website** years. We run programmes in youth work,
education, family support, community childcare and community
employment. To support our services, we run two social enterprises ?
YMCA Gym and YMCA Childcare in Aungier Street.
As a central aspect of our strategic plan, we have the aspirational
goal of establishing at least 3 new community spaces in the coming
years. These will provide purpose built facilities offering a wide
range of community activities and facilities, including high quality
childcare.
JOB PURPOSE
R?idh programme is intended for young people who have left education
early or are struggling with unemployment in Dublin.
R?idh will develop a non-formal learning context, where learners
experience a course tailored to their individual needs. These learning
outcomes reflect the reality that each young person has a different
starting point and onward journey.
The R?idh support worker will work alongside the R?idh Coordinator
in all aspects of ensuring the effective running of this innovative
pilot programme.
Secondly, they will also play a vital part of the OutReach team
reaching out to disengaged young people in the local community. This
role is part of the Youth Spaces team, reporting to the Youth Spaces
Management.
OutReach streetwork is intended to provide support and aims to build
relationships with all groups of young people, including those
traditionally hard-to-reach. OutReach is a perfect avenue for engaging
with young people and showcasing the additional support YMCA Dublin
